My name is Christy. I am a wife and mother of one son. I am also an attorney, crafter, and simple little country girl who loves living in the middle of the city. As a family, we love to travel around our great country and get the most out of each experience. My favorite place to go is Walt Disney World. My husband, Chris, and I have been there 6 times since 2008. Our son has been there 4 times in the last 6 years. We are also big sports fans, especially college sports. A large part of our lives is spent cheering on our respective alma maters, Notre Dame and TCU.
I have been a planner, organizer and list maker since as long as I can remember. This aspect of my personality permeates every section of my life, including travel. The first big trip Chris and I took together was our honeymoon in 2002. Back then, we were novice travelers who did the bare minimum planning. Since then, we’ve learned that by planning in advance and doing some research, we can get so much more out of our trips.
When we took our first trip to Walt Disney World in 2008, I spent countless hours planning and researching for it. I learned more than most people ever want to know about it! It made for a great trip! Even Chris was amazed at how well we were able to navigate the parks as rookies! I have stayed up-to-date on my Disney research. This has lead to helping many other people plan their Disney trips.
We are firm believers in traveling with your children as early and often as possible. Our son’s first road trip was when he was 2 weeks old. We rarely take a trip without him. We all enjoy flying, but find that most of the time, we take road trips. I have developed many strategies over the years to make traveling with kids easier.
A lot of our trips are sports related. In 2003, Chris and I began a mission to attend a home football game at every Division I college. We take several football trips every fall. After 13 years of football travel, we have these trips down to a science. We also try to attend at least one bowl game a year. Sports travel is very different from other types of vacations. Those trips tend to be shorter in nature and all have a very specific focus. Planning these trips is a necessity.
Upon urging from friends and loved ones, I decided that I should share my knack for travel planning with the world. I will mainly focus on three areas: Disney trips, travel with kids, and sports related travel. Occasionally, I will throw in some other random travel information. I also will enlist the help of my friends to bring you some other travel perspectives. I’m glad you’re along for the journey. Enjoy the ride!
