A trip to Disney World can be expensive. There are ways, however, to save money on your trip. One way is to eat some of your meals in your room. To do this, of course, you need to have groceries to eat. This can be difficult if you fly to Orlando. Believe it or not, you can actually get a grocery delivery at Disney World. While there are several online grocery stores, the one we use is Garden Grocer. We’ve always had a good experience with them. Here’s everything you need to know about getting your groceries delivered to your hotel from Garden Grocer.
What is Garden Grocer?
Garden Grocer is an online grocery store in Central Florida that delivers to all of the Disney World Resort hotels. They can be reached at their website. You can also order your groceries, pay for your order, and schedule your delivery date and time on their website as well. It couldn’t be any easier to get groceries delivered to your hotel!
Not only is getting a grocery delivery at Disney World a great way to save money on food in the parks, but it can also save you money on baggage fees at the airport. Instead of packing things like sunscreen, toothpaste and other toiletries, order them online and have them delivered. Having your groceries delivered will also save you time by allowing you to avoid making a stop at a store once you arrive in Florida. It can also be quicker to eat in your room than spending time waiting in busy restaurants in the parks.
What are the options?
Garden Grocer has anything you would find in a traditional brick-and-mortar grocery store. They offer fruits and vegetables, milk and other dairy products, bottled water and other drinks, sunscreen, breakfast items, sandwiches and wraps, baked goods, and even condiments! You can also order beer and wine from them. Additionally, they have organic and natural products as well. They carry most of the name brands that you would expect to find in your neighborhood grocery store at home. If you will be flying with a baby, why pay baggage fees for diapers and wipes? Instead, order those and any other baby care items you might need while on vacation and have them delivered. They do require a minimum order of $40. But this shouldn’t be too hard to achieve.
Where will they deliver?
Garden Grocer will deliver to all Disney World resorts. The delivery charge is $14. If your order is over $200, then the delivery charge drops to $2. You do not need to be present for the delivery. They will leave your groceries with Bell Services at the hotel. If you have any cold items, Bell Services will put them in their coolers until you are in your room to receive them. Garden Grocer is very good about packaging your cold items separately from items which can be kept at room temperature.
You can schedule your delivery during a certain time period on the day of your choosing. This will allow you to coordinate your delivery with your arrival at your resort. They also offer same day or next day delivery. The charge for same day delivery is $30 and next day service is $20. This is very helpful if you forgot something or have an unexpected need arise while on vacation. This is also good to remember if a member of your family gets sick and you need an over-the-counter medication while at Disney World.
We’ve had nothing but good experiences with Garden Grocer. We have used them several times during our trips to Disney World. Each time, I would visit their website a week or so before our trip and place my order. I also schedule my delivery and pay for my order at the same time. Additionally, I try to schedule the delivery for approximately the same time as I will be checking in on arrival day. I usually order breakfast items, bottled water, and snacks. When my son was a baby, I would also order diapers and wipes.
When we’ve ordered from Garden Grocer in the past, our order has arrived very close in time to us checking in. The last time we ordered, our groceries actually arrived before we did! Bell Services left everything except for the cold items in our room waiting for us. They kept our cold items until after we arrived so they wouldn’t spoil. I have always been impressed with the condition of my groceries upon arrival.
Sometimes, when you fly for vacation, you are stuck either eating out every meal or are limited to whatever is offered in the hotel gift shop. However, with Garden Grocer, you have the option of a full-service grocery store delivering whatever you need right to your hotel. The fact that you can order your groceries before you leave home and schedule a delivery time that is convenient for you is just icing on the cake! Garden Grocer does a great job. I highly recommend them if you are looking for grocery delivery at Disney World. Happy travels and have a magical day!
