Planning a trip to Disney World for your family? Trying to decide on the perfect hotel for your family? Will you love staying at the All Star Sports Resort? Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about this fun Disney hotel!
We stayed at this hotel on our very first trip to Disney World. We are a big sports family, so it was perfect for us. I will always have a special place in my heart for this resort, due to the memories made on that first trip. We had a lot of fun staying here!
Disney’s All Star Sports Resort is a super fun hotel, especially for kids. It is, as you can probably guess, themed around sports. Each area of the resort features a different sport: football, baseball, tennis, surfing, or basketball.
All throughout the resort, you will see larger than life sports items, such as football helmets, surf boards, and megaphones.
In between the buildings, there are large, open spaces designed to look like the various sports fields and courts. These areas are perfect for playing and running around with your kids.
Everything here, both inside and out, is bold and colorful. You will also see statues and fountains of some of Disney’s favorite characters playing the different sports.
Transportation at All Star Sports Resort
While Disney World transportation does service this resort, unfortunately, your options are pretty limited. If you stay here, you will have to take a bus to get to all of the parks and Disney Springs.
This hotel sits right next door to both the All Star Movies Resort and the All Star Music Resort. During slower times of the day, the three hotels share buses. But, during peak times, each resort will have its own bus.
While it is not optimal to be sharing a bus with two other resorts, the good news is that All Star Sports is the first stop on the route. This means that you will get on and off much quicker than those guests staying at the other two resorts.
Dining at All Star Sports Resort
Because All Star Sports Resort is a value resort, there is not a table service restaurant at the resort. They do have a food court, however.
The food court is located in the main building, near the front desk. It is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Here, you can get favorite dishes, such as pizza, burgers, pasta, and more. You can use a quick service credit on the Disney Dining Plan for your meal here.
The food at the food court is pretty basic. There are definitely much better places around Disney World to eat. But, if you are staying here and looking for something quick and easy, this will definitely fit the bill.
Location, Size, and Price
All Star Sports Resort is a value resort located in the Animal Kingdom area of Disney World. Now, this does not mean that it is close enough to walk to the Animal Kingdom. It just means that it is closer to the Animal Kingdom than it is the other parks.
Like most of the value resorts at Disney World, this one is fairly large, but it is not nearly as spread out or large as some of the moderate resorts.
This hotel has 1,920 rooms spread across 10 different three-story buildings. There are 2 buildings in each of the various areas: football, baseball, basketball, tennis, and surfing.
When it comes to the size of the rooms, these are on the smaller size because it is a value resort. However, if you don’t plan to hang out in your room a lot, this shouldn’t be a big issue. Just try not to spread your stuff all over the place!
When we stayed here, we had 2 adults and 2 kids in the room. The small size was not a big deal for us.
Like all of the value resorts, this is a great choice if you want to stay on property but are on a limited budget. The rooms here are much more affordable than they are at the moderate and deluxe resorts.
As you might expect, the price of a room here will vary depending on when you visit. However, generally speaking, you can expect to pay somewhere between $114-$263 per night.
You can either book a room only reservation or bundle your room together with your park tickets and dining plan in a vacation package.
The Pools at All Star Sports Resort
There are two pools at All Star Sports Resort. One is in the surfing section which has a surf theme.
The other pool is in the baseball section. It is themed to look like a baseball grand stand, complete with scoreboard. This pool also has a Goofy fountain that sprays water at people.
The All Star Sports Resort is a fun value hotel at Disney World. It is bold, colorful, and all about sports. This resort is the perfect choice for families with kids, especially if they love sports. This is also a great choice if you have a limited budget, but still want to stay on property.
