One of the best ways to get ready to watch a game in person is with a pregame meal at a sports bar near the stadium. And if you are headed to a game at Wrigley Field, there is no better place to eat than Brickhouse Tavern.
We ate at Brickhouse Tavern before watching the Cubs take on the Cincinnati Reds in the summer of 2022. It was, by far, one of the best sports bars we’ve ever experienced.

The Food at Brickhouse Tavern
The Menu
You can expect a full menu of elevated pub grub when you eat at this Wrigleyville restaurant. There are a ton of creative interpretations of traditional sports bar dishes. And all of it is wonderfully delicious!
For appetizers, you can choose from bbq chicken quesadillas, nachos with bbq chicken, steak tacos with queso fresco, wings, baked pretzels, and more.
They also serve pizza, burgers, chicken sandwiches, fish tacos, and a variety of salads. Side dishes include fries, sweet potato tots, chips and salsa, chicken tortilla soup, and the veggie of the day.
The kids menu offers chicken tenders, grilled cheese, cheese quesadilla and a cheeseburger. Each of these is served with French fries.
Unfortunately, the only choices for desserts are ice cream in a waffle cone or an ice cream sundae.
If you plan to drink, you can choose from their list of beers, wines, and cocktails.
On the weekends when the Cubs are on the road, Brickhouse Tavern serves their away game brunch. On the first floor, they offer a selection of dishes from their regular menu. Meanwhile, on the second floor, they offer an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet.

Our Thoughts on the Food
When we ate here, I had the turkey sandwich. I expected it to be deli-style turkey. But I was completely surprised by what appeared in front of me! It was unbelievable! This was hands down the best turkey sandwich I have ever tasted!
It reminded me of a turkey sandwich made from leftover turkey the day after Thanksgiving. It had so much flavor and just melted in my mouth. The avocado that comes on it gave it a creaminess that kept the turkey from being too dry.
My husband had the bbq chicken quesadillas. He loved them. He thought they were very unique and unexpected for a quesadilla. My son had the kids cheese quesadilla and fries. He also enjoyed them.
The only part of the menu that is disappointing is the dessert offerings. For a restaurant with such a sophisticated menu, you would expect desserts that are more refined than just ice cream.

The Decor of the Restaurant
Inside, Brickhouse Tavern is decorated much as you would expect a classy sports bar in the middle of Wrigleyville to be decorated.
A huge square bar dominates the front part of the restaurant. There are huge floor-to-ceiling windows along one wall that give you views out onto Wrigley Field’s exterior.
Beyond the bar are booths and tables. One entire wall is covered with hundreds of baseball bats in a chevron pattern. The Budweiser logo has been painted over the bats. This is a very cool effect!
The wall by the restaurant’s entrance is covered in glass trophy cases. These contain numerous Golden Glove and Cy Young Award trophies that have been won by Cubs players over the years. You will also find other sports memorabilia and memorabilia from musical acts that have played at Wrigley Field.
Just beyond the entrance, there is a spiral staircase leading up to the second floor, which has another room and its own dedicated bar.
Additionally Brickhouse Tavern has two outdoor terraces for outdoor eating in good weather.

The Namesake
Brickhouse Tavern is named for legendary Chicago Cubs announcer Jack Brickhouse. He was loved by Cubs fans. And his legacy lives on in this beautifully decorated restaurant that just seems perfect.

Location, Hours, and Prices
As I mentioned above, Brickhouse Tavern is located just steps away from Wrigley Field. You can’t get any closer to the ballpark without being inside. You will find it at 3647 N. Clark Street in the heart of Chicago.
The restaurant and bar are open Wednesdays through Sundays. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, they open at 3 pm. They open at 11 am on Fridays. You can visit them starting at 10 am on Saturdays and Sundays.
Expect to pay between $9 and $17 for anything on the menu except for side dishes and desserts. Side dishes are all $7 each, while the desserts are in the $4-8 range. Kids meals will cost you $6-8.
Want to take advantage of the away game brunch? Plan to pay $30 for the all-you-can-eat buffet. You will have to pay $20 for the mimosa package.

Why You’ll Love It
We loved eating at Brickhouse Tavern. I think you will love it too, especially if you are a Cubs fan. It feels contemporary and yet comfortable at the same time. It just seems to fit next door to Wrigley Field.
Brickhouse Tavern was everything I expect out of a baseball focused sports bar sitting in the shadows of an iconic stadium.
Beyond the environment, you will love Brickhouse Tavern for its food! It is so tasty! It made my tastebuds sing when I bit into that turkey sandwich! You will not walk away disappointed in the food.
This is the perfect way to fuel up and get yourself psyched for a game at Wrigley Field, whether you have tickets or not! Definitely check out Brickhouse Tavern the next time you are in Wrigleyville! You will thank me for it!

Conclusion
Brickhouse Tavern is a baseball themed sports bar sitting just feet away from Wrigley Field in the middle of Chicago. It is named after beloved Cubs announcer Jack Brickhouse. You will love the food, the vibe, and the location! Enjoy!
