Does your family love eating at local hole-in-the-wall restaurants when you travel? Or do you just want delicious food at reasonable prices? Either way, the Debris Po-Boys and Drinks is the perfect stop when you are in Mobile, Alabama. Keep reading to find out why!

The Food at Debris Po-Boys and Drinks
The menu at Debris Po-Boys and Drinks is fairly small and straightforward. But they know what they are doing when it comes to po-boys.
On their menu, you will find a variety of po-boy sandwiches, a couple salads, some side dishes, and a couple of dessert options.
Their list of po-boys include classic numbers such as shrimp, crab, oyster, or mahi mahi. They also offer more creative options, such as a boudin ball po-boy. My husband got this one and loved it!
When we ate here, I ate the Thanksgiving Everyday Po-Boy, which features turkey, cornbread stuffing, and cranberry sauce. It was delicious! I loved it!
Additionally, you can get a po-boy with meatballs, roasted pork, braised beef shoulder, or bacon, lettuce, and fried green tomatoes.
For side dishes, choose from chips, gumbo, cold slaw, or sides of the day. For dessert, pick either bread pudding or an ice cream sandwich.
They also have a daily special. These range from a muffaletta to a Cuban po-boy or French dip sandwich. The side dishes of the day are usually Southern favorites, such as red beans and rice, fried okra, cheese grits, or collard greens.
You will also find a full bar available here too. Check out the full menu here.

Location, Hours, and Prices
Debris Po-Boys and Drinks is located at 276 Dauphin Street in downtown Mobile, Alabama. It can be a little hard to find if you aren’t paying close attention though because it is in the middle of the block. Also, their sign is pretty small. So, look closely!
They are open seven days per week. On Sundays through Wednesdays, they are open from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm. On Thursdays through Saturdays, they are open from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm.
Prices here are pretty reasonable. The po-boys come in small and large sizes. The smalls are 6 inches, while the large ones are 12 inches.
The smalls range from $13-16. The larges are from $17-22. Most of the side dishes are $5 or less. The gumbo will cost you $8 for a cup or $11 for a bowl. The salads and desserts are all $9.

The Decor and Atmosphere
This is a laid back, hole-in-the-wall kind of place. It is long and narrow, with an old school bar running the length of the restaurant on one side. The other side has a row of high-top tables. In between, there is a narrow aisle. If the weather is nice, though, you can eat outside on their patio.
Debris Po-Boys and Drinks is nothing pretentious. It is a come-as-you-are restaurant where what you see is what you get. I like that it is not trying to be something that it is not.
You can tell the main focus here is on enjoying good food and good company.

Why It’s a Great Place to Eat
We went in Debris Po-Boys and Drinks for lunch on the spur of the moment on our last day in Mobile. I loved the food. It was so tasty!
I also liked that it has a relaxed vibe about it. It’s a great place to sit and hang out with family and friends.
I felt that it was pretty family-friendly too. The only issue you may have if going here with kids is that they don’t have a separate kids menu. So, if your kids are picky eaters, you may have trouble finding something for them to eat here.
If you are traveling without kids, or have adventurous eaters, definitely check out this place the next time you are in Mobile! You will love it!

Conclusion
If you love po-boys or eating at local, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, then you must check out Debris Po-Boys and Drinks. They have amazing food in a wonderful environment. I highly recommend eating here the next time you are in Mobile, Alabama!
