Your struggles are now over. Samoa is the perfect destination for families. Here are the top 5 reasons why I love family vacations to Samoa.
My family has taken several trips to this South Pacific paradise over the last few years. We have loved each and every one of them. Samoa offers everything you would ever want in a family vacation to a tropical island.
Reason #1: It’s beautiful.
The first reason why I love family vacations to Samoa is because it is so unbelievably beautiful. It has crystal clear waters, palm trees, and rainforest covered mountains.
Almost anywhere you look, you will see sweeping vistas of jaw-dropping natural beauty. It doesn’t matter if you are in the capital city of Apia or at one of the resorts in the more remote areas of the island. You will still have amazing views to greet you each morning.
There are very few places on Earth that can compete with the views in Samoa.
And, let’s be honest. A big part of the allure of vacationing on a tropical island is taking in all the gorgeous views.
Reason #2: The people are warm and welcoming.
The only thing better about visiting Samoa than the awesome views is interacting with the Samoan people. They are so warm and welcoming that you will instantly feel right at home.
I have never in my life met people who were as gracious and generous as the Samoans. They always have a smile on their faces, and they would gladly give you the shirt off their backs if you needed it.
And because they place such a high value on family, they love having children around. In fact, family is at the heart of everything they do. So, you can rest assured that your children will feel as welcome as you do while there.
Reason #3: It’s cheap.
Another reason why you should consider taking your family to visit Samoa is because it is so affordable.
Now I must admit that it is quite expensive to fly there from the United States due to the long distance and the relative remoteness of the island.
The good news is, though, that outside of the flights, the rest of your trip will be super easy on your budget. The Samoan tala (their version of the dollar) is roughly about half the value of the American dollar. So, your money will go further there than it does in other places.
Reason #4: It’s a hidden gem.
If you are anything like me, you hate crowded places. Luckily, Samoa is a hidden gem that most people have never even heard of. Because of this, it is definitely not crowded.
Anytime we have been there, we have felt like we had more than enough space to ourselves. I love that it is an off the beaten path sort of place instead of being the trendy place everyone goes.
It’s so nice to be able to go on vacation and have space to spread out and let your kids roam a little bit.
Reason #5: It’s full of amazing adventures.
The last reason why I love family vacations to Samoa is because it is full of amazing adventures.
The island offers, of course, hiking, swimming, and snorkeling. But you can also find some unusual things to do like sliding rocks that act as nature’s water slides and ocean trenches that create amazing swimming holes.
If you prefer activities that are less active, you can visit Robert Louis Stevenson’s home, learn about the Polynesian culture, and see some beautiful churches.
Conclusion
Samoa is a wonderful place for family vacations because it is very kid friendly. It is also not crowded or expensive like many island destinations. If you are looking for a vacation spot for your family that is different and unique, I highly recommend adding Samoa to your bucket list.
