When you take your family to Disney World, you want it to be the perfect trip. And for most of us, that means spending as much time as possible in the parks. I know that I feel that way, or at least, I used to. But, over the years, I discovered that spending some time outside of the parks and away from the crowds actually made our trips better. And one of the best ways to do this is to play a round of miniature golf at Winter Summerland.
We first visited Winter Summerland in November 2015. We enjoyed this hidden gem so much that it has become a must-do on all of our trips. If you’ve never taken the time to check it out, you should because it is one of the best things to do at Disney World. Keep reading to find out why!

What is Winter Summerland?
Winter Summerland is one of two miniature golf courses at Disney World. There are actually two separate 18 hole courses at Winter Summerland. One course has a summer theme, while the other course has a winter theme.
According to the backstory, Winter Summerland is where Santa and the elves go on vacation once Christmas is over. You will hear Christmas music playing and see Christmas decorations throughout the entire area.
On the summer side, you will hear Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffet Christmas music. You will also see things like melting snowmen and elves enjoying the beach.
The winter side features music such as Let It Snow and Winter Wonderland and has candy canes, sledding, and ice hockey decorations.

Each hole, on both courses, is cleverly designed. There are cute little photo ops throughout the whole place. One of my favorite photo op locations at Winter Summerland is Santa’s sleigh, which is located at the front right before you get to the check-in desk.

Hours and Prices
Winter Summerland is open most days from 10:00 am-11:00 pm. But, be sure to check the operating hours for the day you want to go to be sure the hours haven’t changed. To do this, see Disney’s website.
Currently, playing 18 holes will cost $14 per person for adults and children ages 10 and over and $12 per person for children ages 3-9.
If you booked a vacation package for Disney World, you will get a voucher for a free round of miniature golf for four people. This means that if you are a family of four or smaller, you can play a round of golf at Winter Summerland for free on each trip to Disney World! How awesome is that!?!?

Location and Transportation
Winter Summerland is located right next door to Blizzard Beach. If you are using Disney Transportation to get to there, you will want to get on the Blizzard Beach bus. Once you get to Blizzard Beach, you can walk over to Winter Summerland.
If you are going to drive yourself over to play mini golf, follow the signs for Blizzard Beach. Once you get close, you will see some signs directing you to Winter Summerland. You will find that it has its own parking lot.

Reasons to Check It Out
We love Winter Summerland. First, it’s just so much fun to play mini golf with your family. And the course decorations take the fun meter to the next level.
Secondly, it’s such a welcome break from the crowds. Even when the parks are super crowded, you will find very few people at Winter Summerland. It is a great place to escape the crowds and noise for a little while.
The staff at the course are very good about spreading out the start times of the guests, so you won’t feel rushed by the party behind you nor will you feel that you are always waiting on the party in front of you to finish the next hole.
It’s nice to have fun with your family without waiting in line. And it’s also a good place to let your kids have a little bit of freedom and burn some energy.
Playing mini golf at Disney World is a sneaky way to get your kids to practice their math skills while on vacation. I do this by having my son keep score and add them up at the end of the game.
You can also get some really cute pictures of your family while playing mini golf. The photos are so cute, you may want to visit Winter Summerland just for the photos!
While you must pay an additional cost to play miniature golf, it is very reasonably priced. And, like mentioned above, if you have booked a vacation package through Disney World, you should receive a voucher for a free round.

Conclusion
Winter Summerland is a super cute miniature golf course located at Disney World near Blizzard Beach. It includes two 18-hole courses, each with a slightly different theme. There are lots of fun photo ops throughout the course.
Playing a round at Winter Summerland is a great way to escape the masses in the parks while having some family fun. It’s nice to be able to do something at Disney World without having to wait in line every time you turn around.
For us, playing a round at Winter Summerland has become a must-do activity on every trip. Give it a try on your next trip. I think you will find that it is worth your time to check it out.

Thank you for your detailed review! I’m curious how long it generally takes to play 18 holes? Thinking of planning a round and making dinner reservations for after. I don’t want to feel rushed.
Kristina,
Usually it takes us about 1-2 hours to play, depending on how slow my son is playing. Enjoy!
