There is nothing better than finding a delicious place to eat breakfast while on vacation. Unfortunately, finding top notch restaurants can be pretty hit or miss. But, when in Mobile, Alabama, the best breakfast spot in town is the Ruby Slipper Cafe! Keep reading to find out why it should be at the top of your list of places to eat.

The Food at the Ruby Slipper Cafe
The star at any restaurant worth it’s weight should be the food. And that is exactly what makes the Ruby Slipper Cafe so special.
The menu is large and eclectic, which means there is something for everyone in your family. You can choose sweet or savory (or both). You can also enjoy classic dishes with a variety of unique and creative twists on flavors.
For savory options, they offer a selection of eggs benedict, shrimps and grits, omelets, migas, breakfast tacos, and biscuits and gravy.
If you prefer a sweet breakfast, you can choose from their collection of French toast and pancakes. White chocolate bread pudding or bacon praline pancakes, anyone?!?!?
Additionally, they offer seasonal menus throughout the year that highlight some of the season’s best flavors. For instance, the fall seasonal menu features apple pie beignets, red velvet pancakes, and apple pie cheesecake stuffed French toast.

They also have burgers, sandwiches, and salads for lunch or brunch. You can check out the full menu at their website.
The food is so yummy! When we ate here, we ordered the apple pie beignets to start. I couldn’t get enough of them! They were so good! I got the apple pie cheesecake stuffed French toast, while my husband got an omelet. My son, who is a picky eater, just got plain pancakes.
We absolutely loved our breakfast. The food was all fresh and flavorful.

The Atmosphere
The atmosphere and decor at the Ruby Slipper Cafe are simple, straightforward, and a perfect way to start the day. There are large windows that make the entire restaurant bright and airy. The walls are a soft muted yellow with dark brown trim. The artwork includes photos and paintings of area landmarks.
There is nothing pretentious or frilly about this place. This makes it an excellent choice for a relaxed breakfast with family and friends. This is the type of place you can bring your kids and not have to worry about how they are dressed or if they will make a mess.
Everything about the interior of this restaurant says “sit back, relax, and stay a while.”

Prices, Hours, & Locations
The Ruby Slipper Cafe is open seven days a week. During the week, you can dine between the hours of 7:30 am and 2 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, they are open from 7:30 am until 3 pm.
You can expect to pay anywhere from $10-20 for an entree. For appetizers, such as the apple pie beignets, prices are in the $7-9 range. Side dishes all cost between $1-4.
