When we’re traveling with our families, we all want to find restaurants that are delicious, affordable, and kid-friendly. And there is a place in Salt Lake City that checks all those boxes: Waffle Love! Here’s why it is the absolute best place to eat with kids in the Utah capital.
We ate at Waffle Love with our friends during our last trip to Salt Lake City. And it was so good! Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the food. Even my husband, who is not a big waffle fan, thought it was the best meal we ate during our entire road trip!
The Story Behind Waffle Love
Waffle Love started as a food truck in Provo, Utah by Adam Terry after he was laid off from his job. He was desperate to support his family, passionate about waffles, and determined to make his new business successful. It was the first food truck in Provo.
Within two years, he had multiple food trucks in Utah, a brick and mortar restaurant in Provo, and plans for trucks in Arizona and other states. He then brought in his two younger brothers to help.
In 2015, the Waffle Love brothers competed on Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race. After that, the company became even more popular.
Today, they have multiple food trucks in Utah and Arizona. They also have 8 restaurants in the Salt Lake City/Provo area, as well as other restaurants in California, Texas, and Idaho.
Waffle Love is all about the Belgium waffles. So, everything on the menu includes waffles. They have both savory and sweet waffle dishes.
The savory choices include chicken and waffles and grilled cheese waffle sandwiches. The sweet ones are topped with your choice of a variety of ingredients including cinnamon sugar, berries, Nutella, bananas, whipped cream, and chocolate.
The waffles at Waffle Love are all made using Adam Terry’s special waffle batter recipe, which is what makes them so yummy.
These waffles are flavorful, fresh, and filling. You will not be disappointed with whatever you choose to eat here! And because their dishes are straightforward and great tasting, your kids will love them as much as you do.
Most people think waffles are just for breakfast, but Waffle Love is here to show you that you can have waffles for every meal! And these waffles will fill you up without making you feel overstuffed and miserable, which is perfect for a day of sightseeing.
To find out where any of the food trucks will be located on a particular day, check out the Waffle Love calendar on their website.
In Utah, the restaurants are located in Provo, American Fork, Draper, Midvale, Ogden, West Jordan, West Valley, and St. George. They will soon open two new locations: a second Provo restaurant and one in South Jordan.
In California, look for them in Long Beach, Santa Clarita, and Northridge. The Texas location can be found in Round Rock, while the Idaho restaurant is in Meridian.
Another reason why Waffle Love is a great place to eat with kids during your trip to Salt Lake City is the prices! It is so affordable! You can totally enjoy indulging in these decadent waffles without your budget taking a huge hit.
Everything on the menu falls in the $6-11 range. So, everyone in the family can have a waffle topped with their favorite ingredients while you keep some money in your pocket. And at these prices, if you can’t decide which waffle you want, you can afford to get more than one and let your taste buds decide!
Waffle Love is one of the best places to eat with kids in Salt Lake City. It is fun, delicious, and super affordable. They have sweet and savory Belgium style waffles, which are made with the owner’s special recipe.
Your kids will love all the yummy options while you love the prices and delicious flavors. Definitely don’t miss out on Waffle Love!
