We love meeting the characters while we are at Disney World. We typically will see at least a dozen characters on each of our trips. In a previous post, I gave you some tips for meeting the characters at Disney World. Today, I want to share with you where you can find characters at Disney World. Please note, however, that not all characters are available for meet and greets. And some of them are only out during specific times, such as the Halloween or Christmas parties. The characters in this post are out daily during normal park hours. I have not listed any characters that are only out during special events. Also, Disney is always changing the lineup of which characters are out and where they will be meeting guests. So, this information is accurate as of this posting, but it is always subject to change. Mickey and Pals
Mickey Mouse
You can see Mickey in the Magic Kingdom in his dressing room at the Town Square Theater. In Animal Kingdom, he appears with Minnie at the Adventurer’s Outpost in their safari outfits. At Hollywood Studios, you can see him as Sorcerer Mickey across from ABC Comissary. In Epcot, he appears in his normal outfit in Character Spot. He also appears at several character meals including Chef Mickeys’ at the Contemporary Resort dressed as a chef. At Animal Kingdom’s Tusker House, he is in his safari outfit. For breakfast at ‘Ohana’s in the Polynesian Resort, he is wearing a Hawaiian lei. He also appears for dinner at Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios. At Garden Grill in Epcot, you can see him dressed as a farmer, and he will be dressed as a cowboy at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness.
Minnie Mouse
Minnie can also be found in several places. In the Magic Kingdom, she is in Pete’s Silly Sideshow dressed as a poodle trainer. At Animal Kingdom, she is in the Adventurer’s Outpost with Mickey in their safari outfits. At Hollywood Studios, you can see her in her fancy dress. In Epcot, she appears at the Character Spot in her normal outfit. She is also at dinner at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios. You can see her in her Western dress at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness. She is in her swimsuit at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club resort, and she is dressed as a chef at Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort.
Donald Duck
Donald appears in Pete’s Silly Sideshow in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. In this location, he is dressed in his circus outfit. You will find him dressed as a park ranger in the Dinoland area of Animal Kingdom. In Hollywood Studios, he is near the entrance to the park in his sailor outfit. In Epcot, you will find him in Mexico dressed as a caballero. He also appears during characters meals at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom in his park ranger suit. At Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary Resort, you can see him in his chef’s costume. At Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club Resort, you can see him in his swimsuit. He also appears at dinner at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios.
Daisy Duck
You can see Daisy dressed as a fortune teller in the Magic Kingdom at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland. She shares a line with Minnie Mouse, but they meet separately for photos. You can also see Daisy in Epcot or Hollywood Studios near the front of the park. In these locations, she is in her pink dress. She appears for character meals at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom and during dinner at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios.
Goofy
In the Magic Kingdom, Goofy appears in Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus dressed as a stunt pilot. He shares a line with Donald, but they meet for separate photos. In Epcot, you can find him in the Character Spot. At Hollywood Studios, he hangs out on Commissary Lane. At Animal Kingdom, he is in Dinoland and is dressed as a fisherman. He also appears at several character meals. He is at meals in Tusker House in Animal Kingdom and dinner at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios. You can also see him as a chef at Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary Resort, in his swimsuit at Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club, and as a cowboy at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness.
Pluto
Pluto can be found by the flag pole in Town Square at the Magic Kingdom. In Animal Kingdom, he meets with Goofy in Dinoland. At Hollywood Studios, you can find him near the Center Stage. At Epcot, he is in World Showcase Plaza. He also appears at Garden Grill in Epcot, at Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary Resort, and during breakfast at ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Resort.
Chip and Dale
The playful chipmunks can be found in three different parks. In the Magic Kingdom, you can see them in Frontierland in their cowboy costumes. In Hollywood Studios they are on Commissary Lane, but without costumes. You can also see them in Animal Kingdom out at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. If you would like to meet the duo during a character meal, you can do so at Garden Grill in Epcot or Mickey’s Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness.
Princesses
Cinderella
Cinderella meets her royal subjects at Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. You can also see her during a character meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom or Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot. She also appears at dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.
Snow White
You can meet Snow White in the Magic Kingdom next to City Hall. You can also see her in Epcot in Germany. Additionally, she appears at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom and Akershus Royal Banquet in Epcot.
Sleeping Beauty
Princess Aurora is at the gazebo in the France pavilion in Epcot. You can also see her at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom or at Akershus Royal Banquet in Epcot.
Belle and the Beast
The only place to meet the Beast is after dinner at Be Our Guest restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. Unlike most character meals, he doesn’t walk around to the tables. Instead, after you have finished eating, you can go into his study where he will be available for photos with guests.
Belle’s only regular meet and greet is in Epcot in the France pavilion. She meets along the water’s edge under a tree. She can see her in the Enchanted Tales with Belle show in the Magic Kingdom, but this is not a meet and greet situation. You can also see her at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom and Akershus Royal Banquet in Epcot.
Ariel
If you have an Ariel fan in your family, you can meet the red-headed mermaid in her grotto in the Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland. She also appears at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot and Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom.
Jasmine and Aladdin
Aladdin and Jasmine meet guests in the Magic Kingdom at the Agrabah Bazaar in Adventureland. This is the only place to see Aladdin. Jasmine is also out for meet and greets in Epcot’s World Showcase in the Morocco pavilion. Additionally, you can see her if you dine at Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom or Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot.
Anna and Elsa
Anna and Elsa meet guests at the Royal Sommerhus in Norway in Epcot. Even though they are in the same location, they meet for separate photos.
Rapunzel
Rapunzel can be found in Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. She shares a line with Tiana. She also appears occasionally at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom.
Mulan
Mulan greets her guests in the China pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase. You can see her out near the temple of the pavilion.
Merida
Merida appears in the Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland. You will find her in Fairytale Garden.
Tiana
You can meet Princess Tiana in the Magic Kingdom. She shares a line with Rapunzel at Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland.
Pocahontas
You can find Pocahontas at Animal Kingdom. Her meet and greet is on Discovery Island at the Boat Landing.
Winnie the Pooh and Friends
Winnie the Pooh
You will find Winnie the Pooh near his ride in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. He meets here with Tigger. You can also find him during a character meal at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom or during breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.
Tigger
Tigger also meets guests near the Winnie the Pooh ride in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. He meets here with Pooh. You can also find him during a character meal at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom or during breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.
Eeyore
The only place to see Eeyore anymore is during a character meal at Crystal Palace. This restaurant is in the Magic Kingdom.
Piglet
The only place to see Piglet on an ordinary day is during a character meal. Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom is the only restaurant he appears at.
Toy Story
Woody
Woody and Buzz greet fans together in Hollywood Studios in Pixar Place. Their meet and greet is indoors across from the entrance to Toy Story Mania. This is the only place to see Woody.
Buzz Lightyear
Buzz is available to meet in the Magic Kingdom next to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland. You can also see him together with Woody in Hollywood Studios in Pixar Place across the path from Toy Story Mania.
Green Army Men
There are usually one or more green army men roaming the street of Pixar Place out in front of Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios. This is the only place you will find them.
Disney Junior
Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates
You can find Jake outside of the Disney Jr. Live on Stage show. He also appears during breakfast and lunch at Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios.
Doc McStuffins
You can meet Doc outside of the Disney Jr. Live on Stage show. She also appears during breakfast and lunch at Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios. Starting this Spring, she will also start making appearances at Rafiki’s Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom.
Sofia the First
Sofia also meets guests outside of the Disney Jr. Live on Stage show. Likewise, she appears for breakfast and lunch at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios.
Elena of Avalor
You can meet Elena in the Magic Kingdom. She is in Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland, along with Cinderella.
Other Characters
Baloo and King Louie
Baloo and King Louie almost always meet guests together. You can find them at the Upcountry Landing. This is in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom. They are some of the most playful characters we have ever encountered.
Mary Poppins
Mary Poppins is out to meet people in the Magic Kingdom on Main Street USA. She usually is in the area where Town Square meets Main Street. Because of all of the people coming and going in this area, sometimes she is hard to spot. Look around, though, and I’m sure you will see her. You can also find her in the United Kingdom pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. She and Alice switch off in the same spot. Another place to see Mary is during breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.
Alice
You can see Alice in front of the Mad Tea Party in the Magic Kingdom and in World Showcase in Epcot. In Epcot, you will find her in the United Kingdom pavilion. She also meets guests during breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.
Gaston
You can meet Gaston in the Magic Kingdom. He hangs out in Fantasyland near his tavern. Sometimes he is in front of his fountain, and sometimes he is off to the side of the fountain. There is usually a pretty good line for him, so he should be easy to find.
Peter Pan
You can meet Peter Pan in the Magic Kingdom. He meets in Fantasyland near Peter Pan’s Flight.
Tinkerbell
The only place to meet Tinkerbell is in Town Square Theater in the Magic Kingdom.
Star Wars Characters
For all of you Star Wars fans, you can meet Chewbacca and Kylo Ren at Hollywood Studios. You can find them both in the Star Wars Launch Bay. They have separate lines though. Also inside the Launch Bay, you can take your picture with the Jawas. Outside of the Launch Bay, you can see the Stormtroopers, but it may be difficult to get them to stop to take a picture.
Olaf
The only place to meet Olaf is in the Echo Lake area of Hollywood Studios. He is usually out for most of the day. His meet and greet area is located indoors. Look for the signs and you should be able to find it.
Tarzan
Tarzan is a great character to meet. You will find him in Animal Kingdom in the Discovery Island area. Usually, he is on one of the little pathways leading off of the main path. He can typically be spotted from the main pathway.
Baymax
Baymax is only out to meet guests in Epcot. You can find him in Innoventions West across the breezeway from Character Spot. He is in the same area as Joy and Sadness but he has his own dedicated line.
Joy and Sadness
Joy and Sadness meet guests together. You will find them in Epcot in Innoventions West across the breezeway from Character Spot. They are in the same general area as Baymax, but they have a separate line from him. Try to get there early. Their line is one of the longest I have ever seen!
Stitch
Stitch can be found near the flag pole in Town Square of the Magic Kingdom. He is also available for photos with guests during breakfast at ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Resort.
Tremaine Sisters
The evil stepsisters can be found in the Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland. They are usually behind the castle or near the wall. They also appear during dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.
Rafiki
You can find Rafiki at Animal Kingdom. You will have to trek out to Rafiki’s Planet Watch in order to see him though.
Flik/Terk/Thumper
Flik is available to meet in Animal Kingdom. He is in the Discovery Island area. Sometimes, without notice, he is replaced with Terk or Thumper or another character.
Moana
You can see Moana in Hollywood Studios. She is in the One Man’s Dream area.
Russell and Dug
You can see these two characters from Up in Animal Kingdom. They are in a little alcove near the entrance to It’s Tough to be a Bug. They are easy to spot.
Conclusion
As you can see, there are lots of characters out there in the parks for you to meet. You will find them scattered across all four parks. I definitely recommend taking some time on your next trip to meet your favorite characters. They can add an extra element of fun to your trip.
